Chico Theater Co.'s 'The Fantasticks' opens Friday

Chico Theater Company, 166 Eaton Road, is about to tackle "The Fantasticks," known as the world's longest-running musical with more than 17,000 off-Broadway performances in New York.

The play is a moving tale of young lovers who become disillusioned only to discover a more mature, meaningful love. The timeless fable of love is nostalgic and universal at the same time.

"The Fantasticks," will run 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, then Thursdays to Saturdays through March 17, with a 2 p.m. performance March 11.
